On 30 April 2024, Civil Societies organizations held a press conference at NeCSOs Secretariats. This conference was aimed to cease the Kidnaping, targeted and revenge Killing, burning of houses and the Displacement of the people in Tambura, Ezo and Nagero Counties. This is a tribal conflict which started since 2021 where Balanda and Zande tribes in Western Equatoria State have become big enemies. This conflict had calmed down for sometimes before but has started again. This is a big destruction to both Zande and Balanda tribes. Because of the good relationship they had before, it led most of them to intermarriages and bearing of mixed tribes children of which most of them don’t know which side is safe for them as they are mixed tribes of Zande and Balanda. For example children with Mother being a Zande but the Father is a balanda and vice versa.
So the CSOs under the umbrella of Network for Civil Society Organizations (NeCSOs) took time to release a press statement to the community and the government to help cease this kind of fight.
