NeCSOs Helped CSOs in Other States and Administrative Areas to Establish Their Networks

In a period of 18th – 30 June 2024, NeCSOs as a CSOs network in WES helped CSOs in Warrap State, Northern Bahr El Ghazal and Greater Pibor Administrative Area to form their CSOs Network. This was done by giving trainings to them with reference to the CSOs network in WES about how they are structured and the benefit of such structure.

The team of NeCSOs which was led by its Chairperson found that some places had CSOs network but was not fully formed and other places had no CSOs network at all and this gave NeCSOs the upper hand to help their fellow in establishment of their umbrella. This initiative was supported by the UNMISS and it was aiming at:

·        Establishing and/or re-organizing the CSO Network with similar structures across the country (States and AAs).

·        Promoting unity and cooperation of States/AA CSOs networks to enhance and promote effectiveness, cooperation, and solidarity.

·        Creating base for establishment of united and inclusive national CSO network.

However, an engagement with CSOs members was done to give enough time to present extra information to the CSOs than what was planned.

Presentation was done on the concept of Civil Society Organizations and principles of the CSOs work. Many CSOs understood their roles and became very happy and more interested in their work.

Presentation was also done on the roles, responsibilities and advantages of civil society network. Hence CSOs members promised to finalize the formation of the state network as soon as possible within a week to come.

More experience was shared and structures of three states networks to help them to learn and adopt some positive items from the other networks in the country and this was taken into higher consideration.
