Civil Society Organisations in Western Equatorial State gathered at the Civic Engagement Centre/NeCSOs Secretariat for election of the new NeCSOs leadership, Amendment of NeCSOs charter and evaluate NeCSOs performance in different counties through the NeCSOs counties coordinators. The General Assembly event duration was 2nd – 5th December 2024 to give enough time for CSOs to amend the charter and exercise a healthy election for NeCSOs leadership.
The NeCSOs electoral committee for this time includes The Chairperson Fr. Oboi Joachim,
Deputy Chairperson Mr. Francis Boroyo, and the Secretary Rv. Richard Thomas Who were elected by the CSOs on the NeCSOs WhatsApp forum. This electoral committee implement a mechanism which was embracing transparency in their work and avoid biasness. The election was done by 54 participants who came from different Civil Society organisations and only one person was to represent an organisation. The electoral committee used NeCSOs charter which was developed by the CSOs themselves to guide their election process. After the election, the new NeCSOs leadership to takeover for the next 3 years are as follows:
1. Chairperson remains Wanga Emmanuel un-opposed
2. Deputy Chairperson is Odetta Miwai with 31 votes
3. Secretary is Ndani Joseph with 47 votes
4. Deputy Secretary remains Celestino Mario un-opposed
5. Treasurer remains Yabang Emelia un-opposed

In an inspiring ceremony, the Network of Civil Society Organizations (NeCSOs) conferred certificates of excellence to its outgoing executives, technical committee members, and dedicated supporting staff. The outgoing executives have played a pivotal role in steering NeCSOs through challenging landscapes, demonstrating visionary leadership and unwavering dedication. NeCSOs management also exceeded on to award the NeCSOs Election Commission for being the first firm, transparent and committed NeCSOs election Committee and Mr. Tahiru Ibrahim for his professional and exceptional leadership as a Protection, Transition and Reintegration (PTR) team leader at the United Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) who has Contributed to the Capacity building of CSOs in Western Equatoria State.
